As Communications Director, Chris serves as the public information officer for the Department of Natural Resources and manages the Department’s communication and outreach priorities. Chris brings over 20 years of experience in conservation issues and natural resource policy and communications. Chris has held a number of positions in Colorado’s nonprofit conservation community, including Conservation Colorado’s Strategic Communications Director.

Chris was a Natural Resource Aide and District Director for Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-Colorado). More recently, as a communications consultant, Chris assisted conservation nonprofits with communication and social media support for water, renewable energy and public lands campaigns across the American West. Chris’s education background includes a bachelor's degree in History/Political Science from Colorado College and a masters of science in Natural Resource Policy from the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and Environment.
