(Denver) - The Colorado Department of Natural Resources expresses its appreciation on the U.S. Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) completion of the 2021 Greater Sage-grouse Land Use Plan Amendments.
The BLM, working closely with the Colorado Department of Natural Resources (DNR) among other states and stakeholders, has finalized the Greater Sage-grouse Resource Management Plan Amendment. This marks the culmination of more than a decade of bipartisan efforts to reverse the population-level declines of greater sage-grouse across the west by proactively identifying conservation measures to address the primary threats to sagebrush habitat.
“The DNR appreciates the robust and thorough collaboration by BLM throughout the greater sage-grouse planning process. We believe these plan amendments advance conservation of the greater sage-grouse and the sagebrush ecosystem on which it depends,” said Dan Gibbs, Executive Director, Colorado Department of Natural Resources. “Our state team will continue to work closely with our federal partners on ensuring responsible management of these important federal lands and wildlife species.”
